This past week you could have seen me hustlin’ down some NY concrete jungle, prancercising in Philly and being my most patriotic self in DC/Maryland.
I always feel renewed when I see new sights and visit new places- which is my TIP OF THE WEEK.
Whether its walking around a new local park or experiencing something far from home, it’s vital for my writing to get fresh air and expound my mind in new surroundings. Traveling is not just a nice idea for when I have time and money, it’s something I highly value and find as a preventative measure (or remedy) for writers’ block. This is something that is tried and true from my experience going on Artist Dates in “The Artist’s Way” by Julia Cameron (If you haven’t read it, DO)… and get out this week. 🙂
I didn’t even dedicate time to writing while I was away last week, but I did come home driven and ready to write. It doesn’t have to be across the country, just go walk a craft fair or visit an arboretum or get in your car on the weekend and see an old mining town. You’ll find your mind wanders as much as you do, and the creative juices will be flowing every which way the wind is blowing.
