I’m a L to the 3rd power (Lovely Lyric Lover) and I love the lyrics of Gregory Alan Isakov. He’s a genius. So, for today’s Wednesday’s words, I just wanted to share a few of his lyrics in hopes they inspire you as much as they do me.
Here’s some more:
“She held onto my coat that night, like a kid lost in her sleeves. Oh, we warmed the ground, we hushed our sound, we slept on walking feet.”
“The universe, she’s whispering so softly I can hear all… the croaking insects, all the taxi cabs, all the bums’ spent change, all the boys playing ball in the alleyways, they’re just folds in her dress.”
Doesn’t this just want to make you listen to his songs RIGHT NOW?! Anyways, I really appreciate good music when I hear it. Be it LYRICS or melodies, music really catches me and stops me in my tracks when it’s of this caliber. I’m grateful to artists who care enough about life’s inspirations and their craft, to put themselves in a place where this stuff can be born and shared.
What are your favorite lyrics? I’d love to hear some examples in the comments!
